In a rather stealthy manner, HP has recently added to its online shop a new, entry-level laptop called 635 which features a 15.6-inch (1366 x 768) LED-backlit display, runs Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional (only 64bit), and comes equipped with AMD hardware.
The 635 is available in three configurations, one equipped with the 1.6 GHz E-350 dual-core APU (accelerated processing unit) boasting Radeon HD 6310 graphics, another one with a 2.3 GHz Athlon II P360 dual-core CPU (and Radeon HD 4250 graphics), and one with a 2.6 GHz Phenom II P650 dual-core chip (also packing Radeon HD 4250 graphics).
HP’s laptop also comes with 2/3GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a DVD writer, 10/100 LAN, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a VGA webcam, a spill-resistant keyboard, Altec Lansing speakers, an SD/MMC card slot, and a 6-cell battery enabling up to 6 hours of operation per charge.
